We did a quick warm up and got REAL warm as the fog cleared and the sun came up shining brightly!
Then while listening to a play list of SEVERAL different versions of the song The 12 Days of Christmas (not as annoying as you might imagine), we did a workout in the same style – 1 30-second plank, then 2 jump squats & 1 30-second plank, then 3 burpees, 2 jump squats, & 1 30-second plank…you get the idea. (See photo attached for the full 12 item workout).
That took us to about 40 minutes. We then did a co-Q for abs with each of the 5 PAX choosing one abs exercise to round out the workout.
We ended with a good stretch and a COT from an Advent book called The Uncluttered Heart by Beth A. Richardson.
“The twelve days after Christmas make up the liturgical season of Christmastide. Unlike retailers, we Christians are still in the midst of Christmas celebration. There are no markdowns on Christmas love, no sweeping off the shelves of Christmas joy. Our hearts fill with adoration, and our eyes search for evidence of the splendor and beauty of God. As we stand next to the manger, let us look on Christ with adoration and gratitude, praising God with our whole beings. God of splendor, let me be awestruck today by the beauty of your works. May I come before you with adoration and humble gratitude. Amen. CARRY THESE WORDS IN YOUR HEART TODAY: May I be awestruck by God’s Splendor and beauty.”
