For this pre-Christmas workout, three of us met to get fit and ready to help Santa with a send-off before Christmas Eve! Bulldog and Titanium are already fit, so this was a breeze for them, but we kept moving and tried to stay dry under the pavilion for a rainy December morning. A fun Christmas playlist motivated us like Santa’s Elves.
Started with 2.5 minutes of warm up: front kicks, rear kicks, arm circles, jumping jacks, push-ups, and lunges
Then, we did two rounds of the below HIIT routine, which was really just high-intensity without the rest intervals! 45 seconds followed by 30 seconds with no scheduled rest (but we went at our own pace):
Help Santa: 45/30
-
Push the sleigh to the front of the house – Mountain Climbers
-
Check underneath for any holes – Alternating Dead Bug with Chest Flies
-
Sling bag of toys into the sleigh – Wood Choppers
-
Check to make sure Santa can see over the reins – Step-ups
-
Hoist Santa up to the side – Squat Presses
-
Prepare for take-off – Overhead Triceps Extensions
Lift-off – one lap
-
Sit and wait for Santa to deliver the toys – Wall Sit
-
Have some cookies and milk – Alternating Bicep Curls
-
Hang out by the fire – In & Outs
-
Lie down – V-Ups
Up & at ‘em for Christmas morning – one lap
Then we stretched and I found the verse of the day on the YouVersion App apropos: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased.” ~Luke 2:14
