BackBlast:

The Final Day of the FiA Olympics events was looking gloomy, but the sun came out and made us sweat so much you would have thought we had been rained on!

Honey Bear got us warmed up and ready for the Burpee Challenge. Each person met or exceeded their goal for what they could do in the Burpee realm in 5 minutes. We may be feeling those until next Saturday.

Then we did the Obstacle Course…

Starting at the grassy end of the pavilion, we made our way through the picnic tables either doing an over/under maneuver or a “slalom” around the tables.

We ran/walked up the short path to the Stone Circle and did 5 of each exercise, one in each slice of the “pie”, rotating to the right:

  1. squats
  2. RT lunge
  3. LFT lunge
  4. Jump squats
  5. Skaters
  6. Hop Scotch

Next we played “See you When I See you” at the playground – partners ran in opposite directions around the playground. When they met up, they did 5 monkey humpers. They “bounced” off each other and ran back in the opposite direction meeting at the other side of the playground to do 5 calf raises. We did 3 sets of 5 on each side.

Next we ran back to the grassy side of the pavilion for the Dizzy Bat Race  – forehead to bat, spin to the count of 5 and try to run up the hill. If you think we ran straight after that, think again! Zumbo may have video for blackmail purposes!

We then crab walked and bear crawled and duck walked on the walking path back to our flags at the Grassy Knoll.

We did not have time for extra abs and arms (no problem there, since I am still feeling the Big Girl Sit Up challenge from Friday’s Olympic event), so we cooled down, had an impromptu COT with Signs (inspired by the Friday COT) and the official COT from Honey Bear. Good stuff…you had to be there!

And tonight we relax together at the Closing Ceremony at Zumbo’s house!
