For this Friday before Labor Day workout, three loyal PAX met me to kick off the weekend right. I loved starting my day and weekend with my FiA friends, as always!

I took a little poetic license with ideas from the lexicon for the below, and it got us feeling the burn! After a quick warm-up, we got the music going and got after it with the below.

THE THANG

BLIMPS Routine – 3-4 rounds
B – 5 burpee
L – 10 lunges
I – 15 imperial walkers
M – 20 mat taps
P – 25 plank jacks
S- silly sprint: run to deck of cards on bench; pull a card and bring it back to your mat; do the move according to suit & number of reps according to the number on the card (1-9; king, queen, ace = 10; joker = run a lap)
Diamonds = diamond push-ups, Clubs = wood choppers, Spades = curl presses, Hearts = front & side arm raises

Queso was a driving force, and keeping up with her pace was impossible, but only because Buzz kept drawing face cards during the silly sprints! We all kept pushing!

Next, we did a round of Sally Squats – moving up and down along with the song, “Flower,” by Moby. Our legs were burning by the end of the 3.5 minutes!!

Finally, we wrapped up with a 2 round set of 6 challenging core moves – one for each ring in the six packs these ladies are sporting!

30 seconds each: hollow rocks, single-leg sit-ups, 1 push-up into 4 mt. climbers, low plank oblique crunch, high plank trunk rotations, and modified side plank crunches

PAX earned a good stretch & for CoT, I shared that on this day in 1981, Beyonce was born! The world wasn’t ready for that jelly, but I did find an inspiring quote attributed to her for the occasion: “Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that may you, you.”
