In honor of our kids (and us teachers) heading back to school, we did a Billy Madison which is basically an accumulator. I borrowed and modified this workout from FIA Cherokee.
Warm up: arm circles forward, arm circles backward, Michael Phelps, windmills, jumping jacks.
Inspired by Billy Madison’s journey back through school, we worked through each grade of school starting with kindergarten. Each round required us to complete a given grade. This is done like an accumulator so we started from kindergarten & added a grade each round through 12th grade. For the number of reps for the exercise per grade we used the grade itself. So for first grade we did 1 rep of the given exercise & second grade we did 2 reps & so on.
Here are the exercises:
K – Run or Walk to the center line and back
1 – Burpee
2 – Figure 4 Squats (sets)
3 – Fire Hydrants (sets)
4 – Around the Worlds lunges
5 – Mountain Climbers (sets)
6 – Overhead press
7 – Bicep curls
8 – Up Right Rows
9 – Donkey Kicks (sets)
10 – Bird Dogs (total)
11 – Glute Bridges
12 – Big Girl Sit-Ups
We finished off with a celebratory lap around the field at the end followed by a review of our writing skills wit Ab ABC’s spelling our FIA name.
